Flip,

A less painful option might be to cut down Refmac's memory requirements,
assuming of course you're not working with big structures.  This is
controlled by the parameters QQDEN in $CPROG/refmac5_/pls_incl.fh and
MAXATOM and/or MAXRESID in atom_com.fh .  I used to have to do this when
I had only 128 Mb of main memory on an ancient laptop.  I haven't needed
to do it for a while so I've lost the exact numbers, but Garib will be
able to advise.
