OK. I did the wise thing and ordered a few extra memory chips to boost this old coffeemachine... Thanks again. This is controlled by the parameters QQDEN in $CPROG/refmac5_/pls_incl.fh and MAXATOM and/or MAXRESID in atom_com.fh . I used to have to do this when I had only 128 Mb of main memory on an ancient laptop. I haven't needed to do it for a while so I've lost the exact numbers, but Garib will be able to advise. -- Ian > -----Original Message----- > From: Andy Purkiss-Trew [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, June 19, 2006 12:32 PM > To: Flip Hoedemaeker > Cc: 'Tim Gruene'; Ian Tickle; [email protected] > Subject: RE: [ccp4bb]: Refmac problems in 6.0.1 > > Dear Flip, > > You can add swap space as a file these days. > > See http://www.faqs.org/docs/linux_admin/x1762.html > > for brief details (I think that the link is a bit out of date though). > and assuming that you are using a linux system of course. > > You can still keep your old swap partition too.
