Dear Flip, You can add swap space as a file these days. See http://www.faqs.org/docs/linux_admin/x1762.html for brief details (I think that the link is a bit out of date though). and assuming that you are using a linux system of course. You can still keep your old swap partition too. There can also be some performance advantages to having swap space split onto different disks, if this is an option.
