To add to the discussion: is it the right time to think about and indeed start
depositing also anomalous diffraction data? For many published structures
this would be extremely useful but I am not sure whether wwPDB has any plans
as for this ...also software developers would appreciate this I guess.

IUCr journals (including Acta Crystallographica Section D and Acta Crystallographica Section F) follow the deposition recommendations of the IUCr Commission on Biological Macromolecules [Commission on Biological Macromolecules (2000). Acta Cryst. D56, 2].

For all articles reporting structural studies of macromolecules, we check as thoroughly as possible that coordinates and structure factors have been deposited with the Protein Data Bank or the Nucleic Acid Database if a total molecular structure has been reported. If these data are not deposited we inform the authors and ask for data deposition before we publish the article.
