dear paul, including cross-eyed stereo is a good idea not only because it removes dependence on costly hardwear but also because it's good exercise for your eyes. it also stimulates conversation when you do it in public because you need to explain to your neighbour opposite that you're not physically challenged but just a structural biologist. keep up the wonderful work – i'm sure charles would be proud of you if he knew what it's about. cheers jon
