What RedHat 7.0 could have spoilt?

I know this is not exactly the right place to ask this question, but hope for some 
compassion. After
long and happy
period of CD-burning under RH 6 with cdrecord I was tempted to upgrade to RH 7.0 and 
all I got was
"Cannot send SCSI cmd via ioctl".
What's wrong?
