Your normal path has nothing to do with it, I think it's CLASSPATH. BurnIt, cdtoast(?), cdroast,.... all are only frontends to cdrecord (or maybe cdwrite which is ancient anyway). I never bothered with any of the frontends and burn happily my CD's while other people seem to still try figuring out how to use the GUI.
