It was a DVD+R, but I'm not to sure that matters, as I can't seem to be able to reproduce that error now! I haven't changed anything in my system configuration and downloaded no other version (2.01a12) of cdrecord in the meantime, so I feel rather clueless. Maybe something I did before left the drive in a bad state? I'm pretty sure I reloaded/changed the media, but never retried after a reboot, I think. Sorry to have bothered you, if it was nothing after all. You will hear from me, if I encounter the error again!
