Another thing I have noticed since cf-talk got big is that local CFUG mailing lists
such as ACFUG are getting bigger. This is a list a lot like cf-talk was 2 years ago -
20-40 emails per day,
friendly, fast response.
While we are on the topic of how to improve cf mailing list what do peope think about
adding an automatic subject prefix to cf-talk of "[cf-talk]". I find this lets me sort
out the cf mail much
easier than using folder filtering because I actually read email in my inbox - I
rarely read email in a filtered folder! Also if we go to more lists then if each one
had a prefix it would help
in scanning the email for interesting subjects....
Finally I think web based stuff is great but people read and reply to email. There is
something about email reply which lowers the threashold to reply - I rarely find my
self going to web-based
lists or replying when there. If we do do web based please keep the email outbound
email.
That is my 6 cents. ;-)
