Saying that, we've had several clone servers which are as stable as anything
else we've tested (including the new Compaq rack machines)
Anyways, on the original questions:
Get as much RAM as you can, it's the life saver of a CF Server (256 isn't
really enough for a heavily hit server)
HDs are good if fast, but (as said before) if you're using Trusted Cache,
then it won't be hit (apart from the logs)
SCSI HDs are better because the controller (usually) isn't on the mother
board, so it's taking the stress rather than the processor
Casings (Rack, Desktop or Tower) depends on how your ISP prefers the
hardware
You can Mirror any drives you want, but the same spec of drive is preferred
Processors, get the Clone with dual 800 rather than dual 1Ghz, it's not
worth the money
On another point, get 2nd NICs into both the SQL machine and the new machine
and run them through their own hub to talk to each other - the traffic
difference will improve the data through-put when reading (before cache) and
writing
