Collecting knives, swords, and other edged weapons is not new.

Martial Artists and those interested in Asian artifacts have been doing it
for several years..centuries in fact.

Throwing knives and knives in general aren't built to be collectibles. Let's
not argue about the QVC knives, yes those are meant to be collected, but
collecting knives is a relatively new thing, maybe there are collectors guns
out there, but again, that's new, a new purpose has been added to these
things.
