While dawn may have been made from buffy, she isn't buffy. And more
importantly, buffy isn't dawn. The blood that was special was dawns, not
buffy's.
Is dawn a slayer? No and Buffy isn't the key.
Yes, someone'll jump on me about suspension of disbelief and it only being a
story but I want it to be a good story with internal logic. They used that
logic when they grabbed tools and weapons from previous episodes. No
surprises like a magic mace or anything. They had the sphere from about 10
episodes back, the troll hammer from 4 or 5 back and the buffy-bot from
about 3 back. No surprises, just good use of story elements. Except for the
blood.
But as I've said, I'm quite sure Joss'll explain it in the next series arc.
