That is true also. So what do you do about it? Enter a treaty that makes your country
primarily responsible for action, leaving many of the others simply observers? Destroy
your economy on a hunch? The US will be much better suited to deal with this problem,
when or if it arrives, if it's economy is strong.
It's funny how Clinton talked a good game on this and other subjects while essentially
doing nothing. Bush comes on the scene with the courage to tell it like it is, and
everyone attacks the guy.
On the flip side it is pretty pathetic how dependent we are on oil and other polluting
nonrenewable resources. The economics for real change just aren't there yet. Forcing
the economics through government intervention usually results in pain and failure.
