It certainly is spending. I don't see how you can logically define it any
other way.

But more importantly, you miss the point: A true conservative understands
that the responsible, reasonable, rational thing to do is to pay down the
debt before anything else.

And what does the media have to do with this? Are you saying I can't think
for myself?  You're the one who sounds like one of Limbaugh's dittoheads.

As for my patheon of conservatives: Barry Goldwater, Russell Kirk, a young
William Buckley, George F. Will, and, of course, Edmund Burke.

If you want to know what conservatism really is, read Russell Kirk's
"Conservative Mind."

And, yes, I voted for McCain as the most truly conservative option (though
there was no real conservative in either party -- they all pander to special
interests rather than make principled decisions.)

Conservatives don't call tax cuts spending! Returning revenue to it's source
is not spending. Calling tax cuts spending is another example of how the
media manipulates topics to their liberal agenda. Let me guess. You think
McCain is a conservative......
