and in a sushi bar / Japanese restaurant here (near San Francisco) heard a
guy asking for rolls & butter and potato.  Seemed genuinely surprised when
they said they only had rice.  Ha.

Tacos, burritos etc.. are not really American Creation, they are Mexican.. 
but tacos with yellow cheese, mayonnaise etc.. like the ones at taco bell 
are something I wouldn't call Mexican food.. on the other hand they are not 
bad, as a matter of fact they are good :) I go there and to other mex 
chains on the states ones in a while :)

its like eve thing.. food from other places needs to be tropicalize to the 
country.. its like Italian or french restaurants in Mexico need  to have 
the Mexican touch..   I heard some guy asking for tortillas in a sushi bar 
here in Monterrey Mex :(  imagine that
