That's the origin and point of the ban. The ban says that children should not be
exposed to the net and adults should only use it for business (I forgot to
mention that last part). It takes into account that Jewish parents usually have
more than one child and may be running around with them after school and can not
give them 100% supervision as is needed with the net. Better to ban than to trip
when it comes to kids.
Yes, I think that there's no problem when a parent can sit with the children and
supervise, but more is needed. A slip of a key will get you to a porn site.
Judith was looking for a health insurance site and mis-typed it by 1 single
character and got a sex site. Not what she wanted nor what she wanted the kids
to see.
I wrote my anti-spam package to make sure she can review her mail without
pictures popping up especially when the kids are playing nearby. How many
parents would or could do the same? How many think through ALL the issues with
letting a kid on the net. An email account gets porn spam in how many days after
it's created? I've tested this and gotten spam the same day I created the
account (after making a single post with it).
