So for the heck of it I removed the splitter.
And now my connection is slower.

On my last test w/ DSL reports, I got
Your download speed : 187245 bps, or 182 kbps.
A 22.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 25084 bps, or 24 kbps.
which if I read their graph right, means my upload speed is slower than an
old modem. Now I'm wondering if it is something Cox has done.
