There is much that we don't know at this point.

We don't know how many are dead ... It could be 20,000. It could be 2,000.

If it is a high number (define that as you like -- 100? 1,000? 10,000?),
this unprovoked attack becomes a horror so great that merely bringing the
suspects to trial is an inappropriate response.

If it is a high number, waiting until we have "proof beyond a reasonable
doubt" is an inappropriate response.

We know that Afghanistan harbors Bin Laden. We know he is a terrorist.

If this is a high number, then there is no way that we, as the most powerful
nation on earth, can allow another nation to harbor such a fugitive. If it
is a high number, than we must bomb the shit out of Afghanistan until that
government no longer has the means to stay in power and/or until Bin Laden
is dead or has been captured or has been turned over to the U.S.

If brought to the U.S. alive (again, assuming most of the evidence points
towards him), I have no doubt he will be given a fair trial. If found
guilty, he will be executed, which is only right.

I'm not really a supporter of the death penalty. But for certain
individuals, such as the people responsible for this act and those who
harbor them, I will make an exception.

No group, organization or country can be allowed to get away with an
unprovoked attack on the United States. The normal rules of morality do not
apply in the International arena. Obviously, the people responsible for this
have no morals.

And if you've seen the opinion polls, you know that the majority of
Americans feel roughly the same way I do. I would expect this overwhelming
public opinion will push our political leaders to act accordingly.
