I think Henry Kissenger best described the approach that America should take
in the coming days and months. It's not about destroying a people or a
religion or, as Gel loves to describe it, carpet bombing innocents for shits
and grins because we Americans love war and violence. It's about destroying
the system that supports this sort of behavior. When we went to war against
the Nazis and the Empire of Japan during WW2, it was about destroying the
systems that created all of the mess. Once the war was over, once those
systems came crashing down, we helped to rebuild those countries. Japan and
Germany were able to move on because of the support that was given (by
MacArthur in Japan and the Marshall Plan in Europe) by the US. There's a
lot of drama right now both on the radio and on television and a lot of
citizens, understandably, want revenge. It is a normal human response. But
I have faith that the leaders of this nation and those around the world will
proceed with caution and due diligence to ensure that those responsible, and
only those responsible, pay for their actions yesterday.

Now, it is my duty as an American citizen to get back to work and to do my
part (as little as it may be) to keep the productive wheels of this great
nation going.
