mmm too ignorant on the topic of the bin Ladens to mix up the dates.
If the above is true then I'd be inclined to say that a relative of
Osama bin Laden's might in fact not be safe in the US and evacuating
them might be a legitimate government function. Maybe. Depending on
the details.
Does Moore actually say that these things happened at the same time? I
got that impression from somewhere, possibly from the trailer for the
movie. Have to look again.
>Glad to here you're family and home are safe.
Yepper. The city has now banned the public from the area altogether, a
bit drastic, but so are wildfires in the middle of a major city. The
poor slob who started the fire by failing to extinguish his cigarette
after drinking a beer in the woods has been charged with arson. Also
drastic but yeah maybe it *was* criminally stupid.
>I wasn't addressing anyone in particular. I know that when I come
across liberal >articles I usually just read the first paragraph or
gloss over the article. I figured a >few of you would do same.
We had a discussion here a while back about that. Started with the
statistic about people who watch Fox news believing several non-proven
elements of Bushite creed, and wound up with several people admitting
that they tend to read op-ed pieces that support what they already
believe.
So I think we all do; we are human and it's the easier way to go. But
it is possible to make a conscious effort to consider other people's
POV...it can be interesting at times too :)
This particular article turned me off a bit because it was so angry,
an anger the writer no doubt considers justified. But it reminded me a
lot of all the self-righteous hysteria over Clinton's sex life and I
had to make an effort to finish it. The author may have a point. If so
I'd have seen it sooner had the temperature of his remarks been a
little cooler.
If you like we can come back to this discussion after we have seen the
movie :) Or are you going to go?
