The special effects were better than in LoR. For example when Legolas
jumps up on the mammoth there was a definite discontinuity, a sort of
edge, where you go oh yeah they would have had to superimpose two
images to get that effect. I was not really aware of the special
effects as special effects in Superman 2. I mean surely they
superimposed two images to get the fight sequences up the tower or on
the top of the train, but I wasn't sitting there thinking about how
they did it as I was watching the movie.

Yeah, that whole scene with the people all showing their support was a
lot like the cable car in the first movie. And the people rooting for
Superman in Superman 2.

Yeah, the CG is getting better. I could still tell it was CG, but it
didn't bother me too much.
One thing I noticed though was that the action wasn't non-stop. There
was a huge amount of down time with sappy dialog meant to be character
development. I loved that they were pushing the story aspect, but they
laid it on a bit thick.
