maybe it's the stories about families of troops holding yard sales to
buy body armor? Or maybe it's the administration prediction that we
will be there for years. Or hey, maybe it's a guerilla war where the
liberatees don't seem all that glad to have us there?

Anybody who compares this war to Vietnam is doing a disservice to the
veterans of Vietnam and a disservice to the soldiers currently in Iraq.

There is no comparison, the troops in Vietnam were issued faulty equipment
and faulty orders, the M-16 was issued long before it was ready to go, and
people in Washington wouldn't allow the generals to make decisions in the
field.

At that time you really didn't know if you were going to live or die, people
were being drafted, and sent to a battlefield to fight for something they
couldn't see.

How anybody could compare this to Vietnam is beyond me.

uh, there are quite a few people who see this parallel. As I recall
WIlliam Buckley Jr is one. You've heard of WIlliam F Buckley Jr
right?________________________________
