your own genes may not get passed along, the genes of your brothers
and sisters in your tribe are more likely to be passed along. There
was a very interesting evolutionary psychology article a couple of
years about such a hypothesis, that's largely been supported though
kin selection studies and population research. I'll try to dig it up.
