Ok, But I don't believe in God, and I find that idea that anyone would
go to the privacy of their own church and worship this non-existent
deity offensive. It's just a waste of valuable time that could be spent
in a soup kitchen or other such good deed. So, since I am of such
beliefs (Christians,Muslims,Jews all offend me) I wish to rename their
marital union to something other then marriage. I don't care who came
up with it first or when or what some fictional book (bible) says about
it, I want Christians to stop using the term marriage. Sure we can give
them a legal union, with all the same benefits, but they can no longer
use the term marriage because they (Christians) sicken me with their choice.
No white dresses for Christian women either, they should wear purple or
some other color; only Atheists should wear white, because heck, we're
right. Christians term for marriage can be whatever they like, call it
Smurf-age for all I care, I'm just certain that It should not be
marriage, as I have claimed that word for all good God Not-Fearing Atheists.
Now I know what you are going to say, that's an offensive point of view.
You're right, it is. However this is ok, because offensive points of
view are quite fine as long as they are given in the name of religion.
Thats right, my religion (Atheism) allows me to say whatever it is I
like without the effects of typical social norms. In fact in my
religion, we believe that the bible was written by a local drunk (I
think his name was Gary) in a bar. It turns out the bet was that he
could write just about anything he wanted to and people would buy it.
Seems he threw that whole "Noah's Ark" bit in there to see just how much
he could get away with. He was right though -- and more right then he
could have ever imagined because not only did they (many people) fall
for his joke, but they even started killing people because of it.
Good times, but I digress. My point is that the term marriage is and
should always be reserved for Atheists, because I called it first. Or
well I called it second, but second is more then two so I win.
