It's a gordian knott. :) The only way to get rid of it is to cleave it
in twain.
"omni-caring" is a new one for me...
but I had a hard time with omnipotent, omniscient, just and the last
straw was satan and hell... Okay... so god is all poerfull -- there's
no way he can possibly be defeated by anyone for any reason ever.
Including satan and his hordes (all of whom are god's children btw).
So one day one of god's children says "I think I should be head of the
household" ... God, the all knowing, all powerful, and completely just
deity then says to his "five year old" - "not only am I punishing you,
a simple time-out isn't enough, fuck you and everyone who looks like
you for all eternity." -- Doesn't seem just to me. If your 5 yr old
suggests that they should be head of household, do you then murder
them (and all their brothers and sisters who might agree with them) to
prevent them from overturning your authority in the house? Do you
banish them to siberia? As a sane, rational person, generally speaking
you don't -- you laugh, because the idea is silly and even if the
child doesn't understand it at 5, they will by the time they're older.
"We loved our daughter but she was evil. She made the horses crazy,
hid the TV remote, really sick shit. So my wife took her to the family
farm and drown her in the well. I thought a simple time-out would
suffice..."
- George Carlin - Scary Movie 3
If there was ever a movie that deserved being mocked it was the Ring.
