Although the context is a bit different, I think the philosophical
principle of Occam's Razor can be altered slightly to apply here and I
think it fits... All things bein equal (in other words, comparing
apples to apples) the solution wich makes the least possible number of
assumptions (laws) is most likely the best (accurate). It's a
principle I attempt apply daily in my work as well.
