Hi Paul,

I quit dec 31 2000. Haven't had a puff since. I tell you, sometimes it's
really difficult. One of my partners still smokes, and he sneaks out for a
cigarette sometimes. That lovely smell comes wafting into the office, and I
think "Damn, I wish I still smoked".

Then again, I came home the other day and a friend who smokes was round.
Walk up the stairs into my flat, and as soon as I open the front door, I'm
hit with the smell.....yuck....and I think "Damn, I'm pleased I don't smoke,
that smells really disgusting!!"

I used no nicotine aids, as I'm convinced that the main hurdle is the
psychological. I won't smoke now, cos I figure the last 9 months will have
been for nothing if I just start again. Also, I save so much money. 20 a day
at 4.50 per pack, that's 31.50 a week, or 1638 per year!!! That's a lot
of money!! A skiing holiday a year!!

So, stick with it. Decide you are going to give up, and don't consider
failure as an option.

Good luck

Will

this thoroughly sucks.
i have been smoking since i was 11.
since i returned from the honey moon i am determined to quite.

but it does not seem to be taking.
have quite about 4 times in the last week!

can make it 2 + days.

been trying the gum, nicoderm & combinations of both.
then just when i think i am getting some where, a manager will say something
so grrrrrr.........
that i find the closest cig & regretfully smoke it.

now it finally tastes & smells bad again.
i am determined to kick, but am starting to get frustrated at quitting
