What bank? I'm always looking for good banks to use.
BTW The setup that I recommend to most people is this. Have 2 bank
accounts. Both of them have free checking without a minimum balance. The
primary account is for teller and ATM use only. I only check balance and
stuff online. The other account is for Internet access. This is where my
pay-pal and account that I use to pay other stuff is. I use a credit card
to pay for everything online. So I have added protection. The key is not
to keep much money in account 2 so in the event that you are robbed you can
control the damage.
I also recommend that one use a multi-national bank. I traveled to Asia
last x-mas. I was able to depart from JFK with less then $100 in my
pocket. I went to a branch office of HSBC in S Korea and was able to
withdraw US funds without penalty. They also gave me a slightly better
rate then the posted exchange rate but the difference was really
nominal. The only other bank that stands out as multi-national bank is
CitiBank. I've recently opened up an account with them. They seem to be
more restrictive and I have to maintain a certain balance level or they hit
me up with some charges.
