you cited described a case where a paper with what I assume must be a
liberal stance misquoted and mischaracterized a presentation by Rice.
But the page itself belied its own conservative bias in being less
than critical of the rhetoric that the world is a safer place, when
the Whitehouse even had to admit that terror attacks have actually
risen since invading Iraq, contradicting their own previous numbers.
I agree that spin is everywhere. But I don't see how you can say that
it's _just_ a liberal thing.
In the case of the terrorists at the school, I don't see using the
word "gunmen", "bombers", "kidnappers", etc as being anything other
than a synonym for terrorist in this situation. Heck, I'm an unabashed
moral relativist and I don't condone what they did and I haven't heard
any news media suggest that. (That's not to say that it may not be
possible to dig up some editorial somwhere that did, but the
mainstream "liberal" media that I listen to all treated it with appall
and horror.)
