That is kinda funny. Yesterday a friend, who is a financial analyst that
covers munis, asked me if I would rather do M&A work at CSFB or be a
consultant at McKinsey. I thought about that for awhile and said that I
would rather do the M&A work or more accurately I rather be an investment
banker. He took me to task, "You know the people on the whole at McKinsey
are most likely smarter then the ones at any I-bank? You're not stuck
their performing repetitive tasks - calculating yield curves over and over
again. You are there to be a problem solver. The only problem is the pay
is substantially less."
