Most private citizens don't have the resources or access to
investigate all claims they hear, which is why we give congress and
the President the resources and power to do it.
What if you overhead someone on a plane say, "... the bomb is in
place" on their cell phone before a flight?
Are you saying you'd first conduct a full investigation before you
told anyone? Question the passengers, the flight attendants, etc.?
Even if you were stupid enough to do that, how far do you think you
would get?
Your job is to tell a flight attendant, their job is to investigate your claim.
BTW - How much checking do you think Mr. Kerry could've done? Fly to
Vietnam and interview every member of each man's platoon to find out
what they had to say?
Mr. Bush's job, on the other hand, is to investigate claims. His job
is to use the full resources of the US to determine if there is a
threat to the nation; and he's given the resources to do it by the
people of the US.
When he fails to accurately do that, it's a failure of leadership.
