No, I didn't think Iraq was an imminent threat and neither did Gen
Zinni the President's Middle East Advisor at the time who saw all of
the intelligence.  When asked if it was he said:

"No, not at all. It was not an imminent threat. Not even close. Not
grave, gathering, imminent, serious, severe, mildly upsetting, none of
those."

This was because Iraq was led by a secular dictator that was hated by
most of the Middle East and had foreign fighter jets flying over his
country every day bombing any threats.

Neither Iran nor N Korea are contrained by those controls and in
Iran's case they have radical Muslims on their side; something Hussein
never had.  North Korea is run by an insane megalomanic who has little
to lose.

So yes, I think there are state threats, but I also think that
terrorism has multiplied such that al Queda is no longer the largest
terrorist threat.
