OK well for the other side of the coin, I don't have a problem with Mach 3. 
Liked them better than the Excel a few years back so I started using them. I 
always soak my face and neck with a hot cloth until it reddens before shaving 
to soften the stubble. I also use Aveeno scent-free shaving cream. I don't 
tolerate scents well... Also use short repetitive strokes for shaving rather 
than broad sweeping ones. With that approach I get by with relatively intact 
skin. On a day when my skin gets irritated from over-shaving I will leave it 
for a day or two. that's my recipe.....
