My neighbourhood is pretty much behind the times. There are not too
many wireless networks around, I think aside from my own there may be
one or two others.

Actually I've been working out the costs and in most developments
around here, it would be fairly cheap to have one person bring in a
t-1 line into their place and provide wireless access to the rest of
the neighbourhood at around $15 per month for a minimum of 50
households. Much better than what cable of DSL charges.
