I think the case is that apes and humans share a common ancestor. That being the case a good question is what was the precursor to that? I read about a new field of study (Discover, summertime?) where this professor has put a bunch of basic proteins in a salt water jar and has been able to create very basic protein "life". I guess the amino acids combined into the beginning of our DNA. Weird, huh? In any event, who's to say that the "intelligent design" isn't the fact that a few basic chemicals and a couple of million years can create humans? Looks to me like we all began as a few molecules in the ocean. More interesting to me, however, is how man populated the Earth only 20,000 years ago. There was recently some interesting work related to spear tips called Clovis points that are found throughout America - 10,000 years ago they were state-of-the-art weaponry. I believe it was thought that humans crossed the Bering Straight from Asia to populate America, but the new Clovis tip work indicates that aboriginal Americans may actually have been Europeans arriving from the east. Our Clovis points closely match spear tip technology from Southern France but are completely different from Asian weaponry. Even more interesting is that DNA analysis indicates that most aboriginal Americans are derivative of only 5 distinct lines of DNA and this DNA analysis supports the European/Clovis work. It's shocking but similar to the so-called "black jews" - a race of Africans that have been practicing a Jewish type of religion since who knows when. There is speculation that they may be the "lost tribe". DNA analysis showed the tribe to contain the "Cohenine" gene or Cohen gene that only 10% of jews have but 50% of this tribe have (and almost 0% on non-jews have). Waaaaaay off topic though. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Silver Sponsor - New Atlanta http://www.newatlanta.com Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:140170 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
