Interesting. It sounds like a split where religion is religion and does not impinge on non-religious activities. In Judaism (at least orthodox Judaism) there is no seperation. The religion is how you act, think, be. When someone asks me how I am, my answer is 'Baruch Hashem' (thank God). I've been better and I've been worse, but I always attribute my current state to God. I attribute the laws of physics to God as well. :)
