Their water is out for them always, but they don't drink it out of a dish.  
They prefer to drink out of a pint glass.  I kid you not.  I used to have a 
dish of water out, and they'd not really drink much of it (even the freshest!). 
 Turned out they were going around the house looking for our glasses of water 
that we'd leave out and drinking from them instead.  So, one day I put a pint 
glass out by their food, and they drink from that.  I even did a little test-  
pint glass and dish side by side.  The pint glass was drunk from much more.  I 
wonder if the height is more comfortable?  not sure...  That, or my cats were 
guinness freaks in a former human life...
