It's an issue of open-ness. A mustache hides the mouth. It obscures the
visual cues that you see when you talk to a person. The lack of cues leads
to distrust. This is one reason I remove the mustache. I want to be open and
honest 'feeling' to people. I actually take off the 'stach as well as the
little bit under the mouth (the term for which I will not repeat). I
sometimes even do the corners of the mouth giving a very open and trusting
look. The hair framing but not obscuring the mouth seems to be a 'pull' for
people. I can tell you stories. :)
