"You may counter that by stating that, anyone who is making $90,000+ per
year should not be struggling to make ends meet. You might be right, but I
believe that the ability to make ends meet refers to the amount you spend,
not the amount you make."

This reminds me of a few years ago, before I'd ever bought a house and was
still just getting by paycheck to paycheck, and I was making good money for
the area. I asked my friend, a VP of my credit union, how in the world
people could afford a huge house, a new car, trips, and fancy dinners. He
told me, "You would not believe how much people have in credit card payments
and loans."

I believe that, and now I am married, a double income family with two houses
(one I rent out) and no kids. We don't struggle now, and we are
conservative with our spending and have been saving over the past few months
since she got a job. I still don't see how people manage the GIANT houses
and the new Lexus and new Trailblazer. I know I do well compared to many
people, and many people make much more than I do, but some people who make
less than I do have MUCH more.

One other thing - I went to a grill out this past weekend at my manager's
house. He's got a friend who is a cop. The cop is married with a new baby,
so the wife is no longer working. They have two new cars and a new $250,000
house. Me and the wife left wondering if this guy is on the take.
