Hi all, I don't really do this all that often as I'm generally pretty sure about what I want in a machine and which supplier I choose (DELL). Unfortunately, I've just spent the best part of half an hour on the phone with a DELL sales rep who had a really big problem. The problem was the language barrier. I'm afraid that after spending that amount of time on the phone with them my patience ran out. One of the instances of annoyance was that I had to spell my name out 8 times before they got it right. I can forgive pronunciation due to accent etc but the ability to even transcribe it correctly when I am speaking so S L O W L Y is just downright annoying....
Anyway, over the last 5 years, DELL have has about �150,000 (@ $290,000) of business put their way through me and I have never had a problem with their hardware or sales in the past (it was based in Ireland) but this time things have become very difficult... With all the stress and annoyance, I have decided to look elsewhere for a laptop, it must be Windows based so no iBook suggestions thanks and I have been looking at the following manufacturers. Toshiba IBM HP Ones I just will not buy.... Sony (I hate their keyboards) Budget is around �1500 ($2800) so feel free to chip in with alternatives or recommendations or horror stories...
