It's a good article, but the whole concept that there should be
"positive" reporting is ridiculous.  You heard this a lot regarding
Iraq.  If the President favors an Iraq invasion it's his job to report
the positive stuff and the Press' to report the negative or the
counter-argument.

If the President wants asinine personal accounts in Social Security
(the same ones that bombed in Britain in the 80s) then he should go on
a tour (oh, right, he is).  It's the presses job to report on why it's
a stupid idea.

Any media that trusts or endorses the federal government should be
viewed as an agent of the government and therefore not the press.

Ironically public radio and television are agents of the federal
government.  They are also a wise security precaution.  Any military
commander knows that the first thing you do in war is take out public
communications.
