I'm pretty sure what's going on is this:

1.) Congress and the President passed legislation that says in this
particular case a federal court can review a state court's ruling
possible suspending it via an injunction.

2.) The Schindler's appeal for an injunction was reivewed on 4 points,
3 of which the federal judge said the Schindlers "won" such as without
the injunction the Schindlers would be harmed more than the Schiavos.

3.) The point they lost on for the injunction was whether the
Schindlers has a substantial likelyhood of proving that Mrs. Schiavo's
rights granted under the 14th amendment had been violated.

That is, the Schindlers were contending that their daughter was being
deprived of life without due process, but the federal judge ruled that
it was doubtful they could prove this was the case.

My issue is that the federal government shouldn't be sticking it's
nose in state's rights in the first place.
