I'll have to wait until I get home for all the details, but here is what I
think I know off the top of my head.

Win XP Home

Intel Celeron Gateway laptop.

I've used three of the big spyware scanners, including the recent MS one.

My anti-virus definitions are a couple of weeks out of date, but they are
running. My subscription has expired, and I will have to wait a paycheck or
two before I renew it. Car repairs come before laptop repairs unfortunately.

Lap top is about 1 to 1 1/2 years old. We have noticed that the battery has
little life left in it. It can only run about 45 to 60 minutes on battery.
But most of the time, the laptop is used plugged in.

95%+ of the use of the laptop is e-mail, internet chat and ICQ/Yahoo messaging.

It is connected by a Linksys wireless home network.

Any of that relevant?
