I'm thinking the reasons my be a bit more mundane....and a bit less indicative of any strength in the conservative approach, or weakness in the liberal approach.
Simply stated, you need at least three main components to be successful in this area: 1) Money 2) An entertaining, smooth talking host 3) Luck These things came together back in '88 for Limbaugh...and the rest is history. That's a pretty rare combination, though.
