God!! I hate what I'm doing at the moment. I have to write a code audit of a large dynamic site, prior to redevelopment. We are charging our client for the code audit, but still, it really is the most boring thing I have done for years. I wrote the code originally at a previous employers. When I left there, they obviously amended things as time went on, but their amends are all over the place, and some of them are taking ages for me to decipher!!
Now we have won the client back, and they want to redev and expand the site, which is obviously great news for us. But I am 8 pages through writing what looks like it is going to be a 20 page document. Its really annoying, as it has to say what the functionality is in each area, including DB fields etc, what we can keep and reuse and what we need to rewrite altogether. I understand completely why this has to be done, obviously, but jeez it's dull..... Sorry, felt like a rant.
