I've never seen a boring baseball game in my life. But I've been bored to tears by football, basketball, hockey and soccer.

I didn't like the XFL but I admired the attempt to make it a little bit tougher. What I would like to see? I would like to see them adopt the rule from rugby where the play isn't over in the end zone until the player downs the ball. Wherever the ball is downed, it is brought out from that point and that is where the kicker has to kick the extra point. If the player scores a touchdown on the side line then guess what, the kicker is kicking it from the side line. That would make it more interesting because now you would have the players struggling to get the ball as close to the center of the field as possible, and the extra point wouldn't be such a gimme. And Baseball. Don't get me started. I think back on that Simpson's episode when Homer quit drinking and was sitting at a baseball game. Everyone else around him was drinking beer and the commentators were making colorful commentary on the most mundane things. Homer finally said "I never realized how boring this game really is!" I can't stand watching it on TV. The only thing baseball on TV is good for is taking a nap on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, I love going to Cubs games because you get really drunk before the game, go to the game and eventually take your shirt off (ewww), pass out by the 5th inning, get a little sunburn, wake up at the top of the 9th just in time to watch the Cubs lose, then stumble to one of the many bars in Wrigleyville to get rid of the hangover that you now have. Now THAT'S baseball :-) Michael Corrigan Programmer Endora Digital Solutions www.endoradigital.com 630/942-5211 x-134 ----- Original Message ----- From: Gary P. A little fire, a little mayhem. Over here we just pay the players obscene amounts of money and change the rules so they don't get hurt much. Rugby and soccer (football for our non-domestic friends) rule (er, less the African and Indian game fixing, what the hell was that all about?)! No pads, no nothing. ;) I used to love baseball and football in the 70's and early 80's. Grew us in it. Now it is so commercialized I have lost interest. The character has changed. -Gary > -----Original Message----- > From: Will Swain [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2001 4:59 AM > To: CF-Community > Subject: RE: American Football.. > > > true...I forgot that most soccer (I use that word for the benefit of our > American friends) fans watch games in the pub.
