IIRC, hybrids perform best when driven in a very non-agressive manner. Easy on the gas, easy on the brake. This isn't a very realistic picture of how most people drive.
That said, even moderately agressive (not Matt and his overpowered Bullitt ;-) drivers will see hybrids get really good gas milage. Just not the crazy-high estimate they were expecting. --Ben Americans also suffer from our sprawled urban landscapes with long interstate commutes. Hybrids really show there stuff in start-stop city driving. The many Americans who live an hour or more out in a "bedroom" community using some kind of highway to get into the "city" for work may not get the numbers they expect either. That is why until very recently these vehicles where doing better overseas especially in Japan. -------------- Ian Skinner Web Programmer BloodSource www.BloodSource.org Sacramento, CA "C code.
