These cars seems like the pet rock; all marketing and no real purpose. They sell because people *feel* like they're doing something Green by driving them when actually they're doing nothing they couldn't do with a non hybrid and now they've got a 1000 lb battery to get rid of. It reminds me of the Styrofoam fast food containers controversy in the late 80s.
