That is the gas price, not the oil price. With an estimated efficiency of about 
50% one barrel of oil is converted to 20 gallons. That 30 cent difference is 
the equivalent of 6 dollar movement on the oil market, which did not happen. 
Part of that money goes elsewhere. And I bet that the reported record margins 
in North American refinery have something to do with it.

Not far? "the refinery" as in only one?

I used to live on the 17th floor and from my window I could see 4 rerfineries 
in Rotterdam: Shell, Esso, Q8 and an independent one. I think there is also a 
BP refinery in Rotterdam but that was hidden behind an apartment building.

Not with the gas price. But it has got a lot to do with the oil price. Just 
make a graph of the oil price in dollar, euro and yen over the last three year 
and see which price went up more then the other ones.
