Are you benching more in free weight or a machine? Never go by the
machine numbers they are all different. How many reps are you doing
and how many sets? If you're doing many reps, 20-30, it's part of
toning and will bring your muscle to where it was at its peak. I
believe if you don't scale down the reps after peak condition it pumps
you up. Makes you look bigger without the definition. It has something
to do with storing extra blood in the tissue.
